Welcoming a New Editor

Several years ago we set out on a long devotional journey. Our aim was to publish an article about one psalm per month, eventually covering all 150 psalms of the Bible. We realized this would require the writing expertise of several well-trained ministers.

Pastor Gordon Keddie (Southside Indianapolis, Ind., RPC) was our most recent contributor, completing his term with the devotional summary of Psalm 100 last month. A veteran pastor and longtime writer, his columns were a joy to edit. I hope that you benefited from the way he elucidated the biblical themes and applications.

This month, with Psalm 101, we welcome Pastor Ian Wise, who will take us on the next leg of our journey through the Psalms. Ian is the new church planter in Pageland, S.C.

Changes Ahead

Last month’s Education & Publication article in the Witness outlined some changes ahead for our magazine, and the reasons behind the changes.

There will be two primary changes. Beginning in January 2012, the magazine will be published every other month, but each issue will be a lot thicker, with more features. The second big change is that subscribers will have access to our new digital magazine, which will have even more content than the published magazine, and which will be accessible from your computer, your phone, or your tablet device.

The vast majority of you renew your subscription with your church. That process will be the same as before, so you’ll be hearing from your church subscription agent when your congregation’s subscription comes up for renewal. For most churches, that will be in the next few months. When the digital edition comes out in January, you’ll automatically receive information about how to access the online magazine and its archives.

Those who have renewed their subscription individually will also see no big change to how they renew, or when.

Please pray with us as we prepare these newer and, we trust, improved editions of the magazine, that God would use these for the benefit of His kingdom and the edification of the RPCNA. Encourage your friends to subscribe as well, especially those who prefer to receive their periodicals digitally.

Stories Wanted

The Witness is looking for people whose lives were forever changed by meeting someone at an RP International Conference. Perhaps you met your future spouse there, or perhaps you met someone who became a best friend over many miles and many years. We’d like to hear from you.

We’ll print as many of these stories as we can in a future issue. If you would like your story to be considered, email it to me with a good photo(s) of the two of you. In 150 words or less, tell us how you met at the conference and how that meeting has changed your life. We’ll assemble these soon, so don’t delay.

If you aren’t one of those people who falls into the above category, do not fear. We’re always looking for stories about Reformed Presbyterians to feature in the magazine. Send ideas to me at drew@crownandcovenant.com or mail them to the Witness address.
