Sick of Facebook?

I’m not a Facebook liberal. I don’t believe that Facebook will save the world. I don’t believe you have to join the 800 million users on Facebook to be somebody.

I’m not a Facebook liberal. I don’t believe that Facebook will save the world. I don’t believe you have to join the 800 million users on Facebook to be somebody. I don’t believe you have to care about every new thing Facebook does.

I’m not a Facebook conservative. I don’t believe Facebook is a waste of time. I don’t believe you should never join Facebook, and I won’t encourage you to quit.

I am a Facebook moderate. I won’t spend a lot of time here justifying Facebook or condemning it, any more than I will spend time justifying whether I have a regular hammer or a hammer drill in my toolbox at home.

If you are on Facebook, I know one good place to spend some time. Just type “Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America” into the search box, and you can easily get to the RPCNA page. If you had visited there in the last month, here are some things you would have found, and from which you could still benefit.

There are Reformation conferences in late October in Orange County, Calif., and Colorado Springs, Colo., as well as the Ligonier Conference in March.

You could read the testimony of one of our Canadian pastors: “my all-time favorite testimony,” said one commenter.

You could listen to new RP pastor Jonathan Haney’s youth-conference message series.

Topics of recent sermons in the RP Church were posted here, as well as ways that people say thanks for Pastor Appreciation Month.

You could read blog posts about baseball and the kingdom by an RP pastor at Gentle Reformation, and a post on church union by RP pastor Daniel Howe.

Know about the recent Wyoming Valley RP church? You could find out about it on the Facebook page.

You could pray with other churches during the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, and read about a pastor whose life is in danger now.

Why is the church booming in China? You could read an article there from the BBC to find out more.

You could hear a new rap song that talks about the history and blessing of psalm singing and that mentions The Book of Psalms for Worship at the end.

Recent news from the Cush4Christ RP mission and the RP Church of Southern Sudan are mentioned on the Facebook page. Also read about how flooding in the Northeast U.S. affected RP churches.

You could see photos of bicycles being distributed to residents in tsunami-ravaged portions of Japan thanks to RP donations.

You could hear about the latest updates on the RP International Conference almost as soon as they happen.

I don’t know how important it is that you reconnect on Facebook with someone you hardly knew in high school. I’d be surprised, though, if the RPCNA page on Facebook didn’t bless your life.
