When you are reading your Bible, you will notice that God often punishes the wicked. In the time of Noah, the people had gotten so wicked, that God decided to destroy all but Noah and his family in a worldwide flood. He also punished the country of Egypt when Pharaoh wouldn’t let God’s people leave the land to worship Him.
In 2 Peter 2, God’s punishments on the wicked are listed in great detail. Read that chapter. Can you name the six groups of wicked people listed in the chapter? What were they like? (There are at least 35 ways they were evil. Name as many as you can.) What are the 10 punishments mentioned against sinners by God?
In Romans 6:23, we learn that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” It is important to remember that even though God punishes the wicked, we as sinners can escape the ultimate punishment by believing in Jesus as our Savior.
