The 2024 RPCNA Synod was held at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. on July 11–14.

Delegates value time outside the Synod meetings as well as in, since some congregations are separated by hundreds or even thousands of miles. Mealtimes allow for face-to-face discussion and mutual encouragement.

Three of the fraternal delegates who addressed this year’s Synod (from left to right): Matt Dyck from the Canadian Reformed Presbyterian Church, Iain Wright form the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, and Carl Gobelman from the Reformed Presbyterian Church in the United States. Jim Smith from the Presbyterian Church in America brought fraternal greetings. After this time, the Synod approved plans of the Interchurch Committee to invite the Presbyterian Reformed Church to enter into fraternal relations.

Parties representing the RP Home and the Orlando RP Church met with the committee regarding a dispute over a previously unpaid balance by a retired RP minister. The parties were able to work through their issues, leading to reconciliation. A representative from the RP Home will fly to Orlando with the goal of completing the process of reconciliation, as the Lord wills. The original paper (complaint) was withdrawn.

Williams delivers a devotional message on the week’s theme, “I Desire Mercy, Not Sacrifice.” Other messages were delivered by Pastor Pete Smith (retiring moderator), OPC Pastor Iain Wright (fraternal delegate), and Pastor Ed Blackwood.
