Covenant RPC began when 5 families in northeast Ohio desired to worship God with simple and biblical worship that included the exclusive singing of the Psalms. We began meeting informally in May 2008, became a mission church in December 2008, and fully organized as a church in December 2009. This was our first official involvement with the RPCNA, and we found a very warm welcome from our RP brothers and sisters.
Over these many months it has been our privilege to have preaching from RP teaching elders and Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary students. We’ve been well fed spiritually, and we appreciate these men very much.
We researched several meeting locations, and decided on the city of Aurora. We were able to meet for many months in the historic Aurora Inn, using one of their cheery meeting rooms for worship. The front desk was nearby, and the ladies there often commented about how nice it was to hear the psalm singing.
We have 3 elders and 1 deacon. We’re so pleased to see our young adults take the Christian faith seriously. Over the summer we studied Tim Keller’s book, The Reason for God, and it encouraged us to hear them engage in significant conversation on apologetics and evangelism.
One of our elders, Dr. John Bower, a published author with Reformation Heritage Books, recently released his text on the Larger Catechism as part of the Westminster Assembly Project. Dr. Bower also instructs the adults occasionally in the Shorter Catechism. We find the Westminster standards helpful for our Christian journey.
We gather for prayer after Bible study (currently working our way through the book of Acts) every Lord’s Day evening, and then enjoy a meal together. The ladies do a fine job of organizing and preparing this meal each week. The men have a time of informal theological discussion on various issues. The delightful sounds of fellowship, laughter and friendly debate fill the room.

Prayer Requests
- Our meeting place puts time limits on us, and we would like our own place to gather. As we are not able to purchase a building at this time, a rental or leased building would be fine.
- We desire to call a pastor, and are working with the Home Mission Board to secure the additional funds to support a teaching elder.
