Stillwater RPC Member Receives Award
Stillwater, Okla., RPC member Jeffrey Spitler was honored recently as one of eight Oklahoma State University faculty members to receive the 2007 Regents Distinguished Research Award for outstanding achievement in research. The award is for those who have “demonstrated continued excellence in research throughout their academic careers while achieving national and international acclaim in their respective fields of study.”
“God has blessed my work over the years, giving me many opportunities to obtain research funding, find good graduate students, collaborate with excellent colleagues, publish papers, present results, and contribute to knowledge in the area of heating and cooling buildings, albeit in relatively small and incremental ways,” Dr. Spitler said. “The award is a pleasant recognition of this.”
Dr. Spitler’s research is “primarily related to heating and cooling of buildings, with a heavy emphasis on computer simulation of buildings and their mechanical systems aimed at making them more energy efficient.” Much of his work has been related to one type of energy-efficient technology: ground source heat pump systems.
