Two stories of how RP International charged and changed lives

Joe Rizzo | Broomall, Pa., RPC

At the 2004 RP International Conference, I met the pastor and several saints from the Phoenix RP Church. It was clear from these meetings that the Lord wanted me to be a part of the first RP mission team to Phoenix. I participated in the work of the team that winter, which helped me grow in Christ and gave me new Christian friendships.

One of those friendships was particularly important! I met my future wife on that trip. Laura and I have been married now for 7 years and have two sons.

Looking back, I am quite amazed by the working of the providence of God through this and the way He has blessed me. The 2004 conference changed my life in some unexpected and amazing ways. Praise God.

I have one particular memory from last international conference that has stuck with me. The pastors of the denomination were all on the stage praying for keynote speaker Joel Beeke, who had just lost a parent. As they finished, my uncle Phil Joseph, from the back of the auditorium, stood and said that we as a denomination almost never get a chance to pray for our ministers, and asked if he could take a moment while they were all gathered on the stage to pray for them. I remember thinking how true Uncle Phil’s statement was and feeling blessed that the opportunity was seized in such a manner.
