Stumble and Fall

They stumble, being disobedient to the Word. . . 1 Peter 2:8

Have you ever stumbled and fallen? If you did, why did it happen? Whose fault was it? Was it light or dark outside? Were you hurt? Did you cry? Did you pray for God’s help right away?

Falling doesn’t always mean physically falling down. Sometimes it means stumbling morally by cheating, lying, or stealing. Have you ever fallen in this way? What injuries did this cause? Did you cry? Did you pray for God’s help? What did you learn from this experience?

The Bible talks often of a different kind of stumbling. When we do bad things it is like stumbling in our hearts. The Bible tells us how to avoid stumbling like that. It tells us how to avoid stumbling. It also tells us that we should avoid being a stumbling block to others. This means that we should not do things that cause others to sin or walk away from God.

Have you ever been a stumbling block? Think of ways you can help people not to stumble.
