It’s June. The weather is nice. The sun is shining. School’s out for the summer and you just want to have fun.
It is important to remember that, even though you are on a break from school, you are never on a break from your Christian life. This means continuing to be an example to others even as you play.
The Reformed Presbyterian Testimony says: “Good works, while not a means of salvation, are required of believers as a testimony of God’s grace, as evidence of regeneration and as a blessing to mankind” (16.1). Doing good things does not mean Jesus will save us. Jesus saves those who believe in Him. But because we believe in Jesus, we should do good things to show others the love of Jesus.
Jesus once told the people in a parable that whenever they do a good thing for someone, it is the same as doing a good thing for Him. He also told the people, “Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me” (Matthew 25:34-40).
Do you treat people the same as you would treat Jesus? What things can you do differently?
