Deaths

Choinière-Shields, Laurent, Sept. 4, age 19. Laurent died after a fall in the woods at the St. Lawrence Family Camp at Silver Lake Camp near Perth, Ont. Funeral services were held at Westview Bible Church (near Montreal, Quebec) on Sept. 11, officiated by Pastor Courtney Miller. Laurent was a baptized member at Broomall RP Church and a communicant member at Lochiel and then Hudson/St. Lazare RP church. He was very involved in the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Vanier College during his CEGEP years. One of Laurent’s other great loves was Irish dance. This past spring he qualified to represent Canada in an international competition in Glasgow, Scotland. Laurent was to start his first year at Concordia University studying engineering. Laurent leaves behind parents Philip and Hélène and siblings Étienne, Mireille, Guillaume and Émile. His vibrant life and energy will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. The week before he died, Laurent had prayed to be an influence on the friends in his life. God answered that prayer. (Hudson/St. Lazare, Quebec, RPC)

Hall, Margaret Ann, July 3, age 88. Funeral services were held at Shawnee RPC, officiated by Pastor Wade Mann. Margaret was a lifelong member of the Kansas City/Shawnee RPC. She taught Sabbath school for many years and was active in the Women’s Missionary Fellowship, serving in several offices. Her ready smile, hearty chuckle and a handful of candy for the children will long be remembered by the congregation. She was truly a daughter of the King. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and John Hall, and is survived by her nephews, Richard and Harry Hall, a grandniece and great-nephew. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. (Shawnee, Kan., RPC)
