College Hill (Beaver Falls, Pa.) RPC

Anthony Selvaggio, pastor

Spring found the College Hill RPC once again congratulating its graduates (see Brief Notes). A number of members and adherents were specially honored at the Geneva College commencement: Juliann Spencer, one of the valedictorians; Heather Carleton, summa cum laude; and Tabitha Stahl, summa cum laude with an education prize; Joel Mason and Katie McKay, music honor; Matt Stewart, three honors; Cassandra Latvala, library prize; Rachel McMahan, psychology honor; Juliann Spencer, English prize; and Becca Stewart, education and athletic prizes.

On May 2, the congregation said farewell to 19 Geneva seniors—members and adherents—who have worshiped with the congregation over the past few years. Each was presented with a copy of The Book of Psalms for Singing.

This spring, the congregation was amply represented in the cast and crew of Hello, Dolly! the annual musical theater production presented by Beaver County Christian School. Sharing the leads were Ailie Kilpatrick (Dolly) and Ian Smith (Horace Vandergelder). Others in the cast were Esther Carleton, Jeremy Glovier, Peter Carson, Bethany Stahl, and Molly Carson. Involved in the crew and orchestra and among the supporting staff were Lauren McBurney, Sarah Carleton, Jed Wallace, Jacque Stahl, Bethany Warren, Ken Carson, and Debbie Glovier.

On May 25, the eleventh annual Henry Awards program took place at Geneva College. The capacity crowd at Metheny Fieldhouse was entertained with representative selections from 14 musicals presented earlier this spring by high schools in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties. These awards are named for a Beaver County native, the late composer Henry Mancini. The following College Hill RPC members received awards: Jeremy Glovier and Esther Carleton, outstanding performance by a group; Ailie Kilpatrick, outstanding female in a leading role; and Ian Smith, outstanding male in a leading role.
