A group met each Sunday evening throughout the spring to study the video series Suffering and the Sovereignty of God by R.C. Sproul, Jr.

The women’s study group is currently reading Joshua: All God’s Good Promises by Kathleen Buswell Nielson. The men’s monthly fellowship group is studying Christianity and Liberalism by J. Gresham Machen and Carl Trueman. A group in nearby Burlington and open to all adults studied the book of Colossians. The college and career group met on Sunday evenings over the past several months.

The vacation Bible school theme for 2015 was “Walking With Jesus.” Approximately 60 children participated. They learned about the Bible, memorized verses, and sang Psalms. They also solicited and donated money from sponsors to support a nearby boys ranch ministry and a local crisis pregnancy center.

Pastor Greg Stiner focused one sermon series on the Abrahamic Covenant and another on the words of Jesus at the time of His crucifixion.

On Monday, June 29, the Vince and Julie Ward family—previously missionaries in Sudan—ended their circuit of visits with a visit to Christ Church. Hospitality was shown by the Sleys family at their Rosemont Inn. Not only Vince and Julie, but also their lively, articulate children, summarized the past 10 years of fruitful work in Sudan. They then familiarized us with the plans and people of the present mission team. About 40 eager listeners of all ages filled the inn to welcome the Wards, ask questions, and be encouraged in the Lord. Since the Old Testament had not yet been translated into Dinka, a highlight of the presentation was physically handling a simple folder of the new 150 Waak (Psalms) in Dinka. See photos, above.
