Eastvale (Beaver Falls Pa.) RPC

Micah Ramsey, pastor

The Eastvale RPC praises God for the ordination and installation of Joe Caskey and James Dymond as deacons on Feb. 4. Pastor Ramsey brought a message on the theme, “Live and Tell,” from Psalm 118:17. A reception and greeting of the new deacons followed the service. On Feb. 3 there was a funeral service for Jean Daniels (93), the congregation’s oldest member. She will be greatly missed, but there was joy that she has gone to be with her Lord and thanksgiving for her many years of service and prayers for the congregation.

Alicia Burgess from Cyprus has been a wonderful help to the congregation since she came in September. She has studies with high school girls, college girls, and makes many other contacts in the community.

Russell, Ont., RPC

Matt Kingswod, pastor

After eleven years of meeting for worship at the annex of the Mother Theresa Separate (Catholic) School in Russell, the Russell RPC has moved. The congregation has begun to meet at the nearby St. Joseph French Catholic School in Russell at 1008 North Russell Road. The two worship services each Lord’s Day are at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. From September through June there are Sabbath school classes at 11:15 a.m. A fellowship luncheon is held after the service on the first Sunday of each month, and the Lord’s supper is celebrated later that day during the evening service.

RPTS Offers New Counseling Concentration for Doctorate of Ministry Degree

The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary (RPTS) announced plans to begin offering a second concentration in counseling for its doctor of ministry (D.Min.) degree and is seeking interested applicants.

The new concentration, entitled Strengthening Counseling Ministry, is one of two concentrations for the D.Min. degree program called Strengthening Ministry in the Kingdom of God. It is a professional degree providing advanced training for those who minister to and pastor people in the church. It is a program of study and research intended for ministry renewal, reinvigoration in biblical and theological studies, integration of theological convictions with societal issues, and enhancement of the skills needed for effective biblical ministry. It integrates advanced academic research in the various fields of theological study with the practice of ministry. The other D.Min. concentration is entitled Strengthening Pastoral Ministry.

The RPTS D.Min. degree follows a cohort model, in which a group of students begin at the same time and work through the classes together. The next cohort opens this August. To apply, call (412) 731‑8690 or visit www.rpts.edu, where a brief video about the program can be viewed.
