Geneva College Opens New Entranceway
Geneva College has not had a main entrance to its campus since the college opened its doors in 1848. That changed the week of May 11, when a new entry, marked by a 60-foot-long arched gateway leading to a four-lane boulevard, opened at Route 18 and 31st Street in Beaver Falls, Pa. The new front door for the college opened in time for commencement ceremonies May 14-16.
The boulevard leads to a wide roundabout, which provides access to adjacent roads and all drivable points on campus.
The project will continue with the construction of a tree-lined pedestrian walkwaynd an expanded Alumni Hall parking lot. The project is expected to be completed by this fall.
In Memorium
Clarence Gibson Wilson
With deep sorrow, the Rose Point, Pa., RPC announces the death of Clarence Gibson Wilson on Apr. 3, 2009. A faithful servant of the Lord all his days, Mr. Wilson was an esteemed member of the session for the past six decades. He has now gone to be with Christ, which is far better.
A lifelong farmer, Mr. Wilson was born May 3, 1918, to Vance Fisher and Nannie Jane Gibson Wilson. He married the former Mary Elizabeth Kerr on May 12, 1943. She died May 21, 1975. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven P. and Patricia Wilson, and Charles V. and Judy Wilson; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A diligent student of the Scriptures, Mr. Wilson taught Sabbath school classes for many years. He was a wise, faithful, and hard-working man. The memory of his life, as it was lived in the church and in the community, will be sweet and lasting.
