Updates from congregations

White Lake Camp

In August, the Atlantic and St. Lawrence presbyteries of the RPCNA held their annual Kids & Teen Camp and their Family Camp at White Lake Covenanter Camp in the Catskill Mountains of New York.

Kids & Teen Camp was from July 29–Aug. 4 and had a record attendance of 97 campers. Pastor Lucas Hanna (First RPC of Beaver Falls, Pa.) spoke to the kids and teens on the topic, “Loving the Gates of Zion,” which described the attitudes that Christians should have toward the church. White Lake also had its very first theater program during the week. Joanna Lowe and her mother, Carol Lowe, facilitated an imaginative production of James and the Giant Peach.

Family Camp was Aug. 4–11 and was run by Young People’s president Stasia Finch. Pastor Alex Tabaka (Broomall, Pa., RPC) taught on the book of Hebrews. Activities throughout the week included team challenges, intense archery tag, and a festive barn dance. The week ended with a dedication bonfire for the newly purchased 10 acres of land. Bagpipes were played, songs were sung, and Chinese floating lanterns were lit and sent aloft to commemorate the event and to look forward to the future of the camp.

Camp dates for next year have been set, with Kids & Teen Camp running July 28–Aug. 3, and Family Camp occurring Aug. 3–10. Family Camp will be run by Kayla Milroy. Look for more information to come.
