Rev. Steven F. Miller, age 67, died July 17, 2018, at Brighton Rehabilitation Center in Beaver, Pa., following a three-year battle with ALS. Visitation was held July 20 at Smith’s Funeral Home in New Wilmington, Pa. The funeral service was held July 21 at Geneva College’s Metheny Fieldhouse.
Rev. Miller was born on Nov. 20, 1950, in Westfield, N.J., to Frederick and Harriet Miller. He served the Lord and blessed others as a pastor for 40 years. He was ordained at his first church in Lewisburg, Pa., in 1977. He then took a call to Calvary OPC in Glenside, Pa., in 1981, where he served for 13 years before taking a call to be a missionary in East Africa for five years. Upon his return to America, he was pastor for 15 years of Nashua OPC, Pulaski Twp., Pa., then pastor for two years of First Reformed Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls, Pa. He also served 17 years during that time as adjunct professor of missions at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, Pa. His sermons may be found on sermonaudio.com. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Miller; his mother, Harriet Miller; his brother, David Miller; his three children, Adam Miller, Anastasia Forde, and Luke Miller; and 16 grandchildren. Jane and her family would like to express their gratitude for all the care and expressions of love they received from friends near and far, extended family, and the dedicated doctors and nurses at home and in the facilities where Steve was cared for during his decline.
