“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” —Matthew 6:33
What kind of person says, “I must have all my needs/desires/security/prosperity met”? This person is not concerned to become holy and Christ-like. Another word for this is the religion of “humanism,” in which humans are most important—not God.
Humanist teachers are our enemies. Some can act like friends or teachers but are “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” Lack of precise, clear thinking based on God’s Word can lead a person astray. “Be on the alert,” we are told in Acts 20:31. “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” The Word helps me to set good Christian goals in my life.
Focus on Jesus. People who seek outside themselves to please Jesus are true Christians. Follow the examples of Jesus Himself, the Apostle Paul, Christian pastors, and parents.
