Deaths

Calfee, Gary, Feb. 27. Rev. Jack Baumgardner officiated at the funeral held in Clarinda; burial was in Elmo, Iowa. Gary grew up in the Blanchard area. He was married to Gladys Stiverson. Their three children are: Carl, Kellie and Cindy. He has six grandchildren: Trent Calfee, Megan Calfee, Maicy Darrah, Luke Calfee, Lindsay Darrah, Katelyn Darrah. Gary retired from the army and later worked as a firefighter, a police officer, and a postman. Gary became a member at Clarinda, Iowa, RPC after his grandchildren attended a VBS program the summer of 2008. He was baptized on June 15, 2009, and became a member that same day. McElhinney, Paul Dwayne, Mar.15, age 78 years. Pastor Ronald B. Good officiated the funeral and internment at Sharon RP Church. Paul was a lifelong resident of the Morning Sun, Iowa area, a farmer, and served as an elder at Sharon Church for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Evelyn; two sons, Matthew, of Bakersfield, Calf.; Mark (Sandy) of Morning Sun, Iowa; one daughter, Susan (Shane) Baron, of New London, Iowa; and six grandchildren. Wilkey, Gail Beatrice, Feb. 7, age 94. Pastor Joel Wood officiated at the service. The funeral was at Sterling, Kan., RP Church. Former Pastor Bruce Backensto read the obituary.
