Nolan Curran received the NCO of the Year award and Caleb Curran the Cadet of the Year award at the Christmas party held by Civil Air Patrol New Castle Squadron 123.

Ralph and Joday Joseph delivered fruit baskets to the shut-in members of the congregation in early December. The congregation gathered for their annual New Year’s dinner Jan. 1. Following dinner, many of the folks played board games.

The church building boasts new front doors, which were installed in December. Jeremiah Wilson, a part-time student at RPTS, became a communicant member of the congregation in December and was taken under care of the Presbytery of the Alleghenies in April.

Caleb Curran planned and executed, with an able staff, a color guard academy for Civil Air Patrol cadets Feb. 27. He made 24 wooden rifles for the cadets to use for training.

Members of the congregation were saddened by the passing of a former pastor, Mel Martin. Following his graduation from the RP Seminary, Pastor Martin served Rose Point from 1943-52.
