At least 34 members and friends gathered for a noon meal on New Year’s Day. Following the meal, several of the families remained to play board games.

Deacon Harold Wilson fell and broke his hip, and had to have surgery; and Joday Joseph had her right knee replaced (the left one was done last year). Both are undergoing rehabilitation.

On the joyful side, several of our members have announced wedding plans. Jennifer Reed and Jay Lasher, Marja Hanninen and Daniel Ray, Erica Youngman and Adam Zajac, and Tom Reed and Meagan Gribbin plan to be married this summer, and Amy Bessell is planning a 2012 wedding.

The congregation has welcomed two new families who have begun attending recently. Patrick and Jennifer McCarren live in Butler, Pa., where they have a home construction business. Mathew and Michelle McKnight and three children moved to the area after Mat completed his stint with the U.S. Army.

In mid-December, John Mitchell and his friend George Jackson (Broomall, Pa., RPC) took a cruse through the Panama Canal and then on to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

The congregation’s annual business meeting was Jan. 21. A carry-in dinner was enjoyed at noon followed by the meeting. Jack Kaylor, Lillian Kennedy and John Mitchell were re-elected chairman, secretary and treasurer, respectively.
