Hetherton, Mich., RPC Ray Morton, stated supply

In keeping with the spirit of the season and to promote the life of the Hetherton RP Church, announcements were placed in the area inviting people to a special psalm sing on Friday evening, Apr. 18. Pastor Ray Morton prepared a service based on the psalms that Jesus sang on the night in which He was betrayed. Jeff Manring came north from Sterling Heights and served as our guest precentor for the time of worship and praise. The evening was capped off with a time of fellowship. —Milton L. White Lake, N.Y., RPC David Coon, pastor

The congregation has been truly blessed by God this past year as we have reached out to people in our community. Our food pantry, known as “Shepherd’s Pantry,” is now serving approximately 250-300 families.  The pantry does more than just offer food, but also offers support and encouragement to families in need.  Once a month we have a luncheon for seniors in our community. They enjoy getting together as well as the crafts prepared by Cathy Coon and a delicious meal with dessert.

We have been praying for additional families with children to worship with us and attend Sunday school classes. God heard our prayers, and three additional families with a total of six children recently started attending.

We continue to pray that God will give us wisdom in bringing more children of all ages to our church—after all, they are the future of the church. We have a Friday sports night three times a month, which is well attended by kids from the church and their friends. Once a month we have a family Friday movie night.

In 2013 the church was blessed with the addition of four baptized members and five new members by profession of faith. Pray that, with the help of our church members, the new folks will grow in their faith. Currently we are praying about the possibility of the election of another deacon. Please pray with us for God’s guidance. —Helen Gandulla, correspondent
