Around the Church January 2021

Orlando, Fla., RPC

Pastor H.P. McCracken, his wife, Carly, and their three children left Orlando in October, after receiving a call to Salt and Light (Longmont, Colo.) RPC. Carly’s parents, Craig and Belinda Fyfe, also moved to Longmont. They are all greatly missed, but they go with the congregation’s prayers.

The Orlando RPC’s pulpit is now vacant. The elders, in the meantime, established and oversee a pastoral search committee. They are also welcoming visiting pastors and filling in where needed for the congregation’s worship services.

The congregation mourns the loss of two members: John Bailey and Phyllis Tacey. John Bailey was wheelchair bound and suffered many physical challenges. His wife, Sandy, was his devoted caregiver. He passed away in Aug. 2020 at age 77. Phyllis Tacey was in hospice care. She passed away in Oct. 2020 just days shy of her 95th birthday. Her daughter Marjorie and her son David were her faithful caregivers. Phyllis was the congregation’s oldest living member and the daughter of one of the members who founded the congregation in 1920.

Sam Goerner and Sierra Bramhall were married in a small ceremony on Nov. 6. Karl Schaefer and Bashia Korten are engaged. The congregation rejoices with both couples and prays for God’s blessing and guidance in their future lives.
