Installations

Rev. John Monger was installed as pastor of the Rimersburg, Pa., RPC on Friday evening, Sept. 14, by a special commission appointed by the Presbytery of the Alleghenies. Mr. Monger served as stated supply in the congregation for the past two years.

Deaths

Copeland, E. Clark, September 25, 2012, age 97. Pastors participating in the memorial service held on October 13th were Bruce Hemphill, pastor of Covenant Fellowship, Bruce C. Stewart and Wayne Spear, former colleagues at RPTS, and Keith Copeland, his youngest brother. Dr. Copeland was born and raised on a farm near Idana, Kan. Following graduation from Sterling College, Clark served for 3 years in Cyprus, teaching in the American Academy in Larnaca. He returned to the States to attend the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. During that time, he married Ethyl Margaret Dunn, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2001. A founder and charter member of Covenant Fellowship (Wilkinsburg, Pa.) RPC, he was active in the life of the congregation until just a few years prior to his death. “And being old and well-stricken in age, he fell asleep, and was gathered to his fathers.” Dr. Copeland is survived by 4 children, Kathy (George) Cooper; Daniel (Carolyn); Carolyn Clarke; James (Sandy); 2 brothers, Wilbur and Keith (Leu Anne); 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the RP Theological Seminary or to the RP Home.

Fisher, Martha Susan (Reynolds), age 53, July 3. Funeral services were held July 14 at Redeemer Fellowship Church in Watertown, Mass., by Pastor Ed Robson. Burial followed at Cambridge Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Howe officiating. Martha was a chemistry professor at Colgate University until she married Thomas in 2003 and moved to Boston. During her time in Boston, she was an editor and proofreader for Reformation Heritage Books. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her mother, Hazel L. Reynolds (Cincinnati, Ohio); her brothers, David S., Jr. (Collierville, Tenn.), Thomas D. (Morgantown, W.V.), and John M. (Chapel Hill, N.C.); her mother-in-law, Thomasena Fisher (Greenville, S.C.); her siblings-in-law Ronald and Cheryl Fisher (Mauldin, S.C.), Theodore H. Fisher, III, and Leilani Fisher (Spartanburg, S.C.); her niece and nephews and their families; a host of cousins; and many friends and former students. (First [Cambridge, Mass.] RPC)

McIntyre, Martha E., July 31, age 69, of Coulterville, Ill, at Memorial Hospital in Belle-ville, Ill. Services were held at Sparta RP Church on Aug. 4. Pastor Ray Morton officiated. Interment was at Old Salem Cemetery in Tilden, Ill. Martha was born to Lester B. McIntyre and Anna W. Wilson on Oct. 21, 1942, in Sparta, Ill. She was a member of the Sparta RPC, a teacher and caregiver who also volunteered with the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She is survived by her niece, Donna Beth Weber of Hemet, Calif; and a host of cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John McIntyre. Memorials may be given to the Crisis Pregnancy Center or to the Sparta RP Church. (Sparta, Ill., RPC)
