Hart, Patrick and Cerbus, Anne, July 12, at Southside Indianapolis RP Church, by Pastor David Whitla. Parents are Elaine Cerbus and Mark and Susanne Hart. The couple resides in Indianapolis. (Southside [Indianapolis, Ind.] RPC)

Deaths

Maine, Robert Bruce, age 87, May 28. Pastor Greg Stiner officiated at the burial in Wapello, Iowa. Pastor Wade Mann conducted a memorial service held at the Shawnee, Kan., RPC on June 15. Bob was born in Wapello, Iowa. He joined the Navy in 1943 and later attended aeronautics school. He secured his pilot’s license and worked for American Airlines. Bob married Elizabeth (Libbie) Daugherty on Apr. 15, 1949. Upon retiring in 1985, the couple moved to Osceola, Mo., for its access to Truman Lake and opportunities for duck hunting. He always enjoyed the beauty of nature. Bob was a member of the Shawnee, Kan., RPC. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his daughter, Michelle Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Libbie, son, David (Patty); son, Kevin; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. (Shawnee, Kan., RPC)

Okamura, Hisako, age 61, July 15. Hisako-san passed into glory at Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital in Kobe, Japan, after a battle with liver cirrhosis. She was born in Sasayama, north of Kobe, in 1952, was baptized, and married Mr. Kiyoshi Okamura, then-widower with two little daughters, in 1974. She helped her husband’s small metal factory for years, even accompanying him as he volunteered to deliver the steam spray that he had invented for the use at a Reformed church in the tsunami-damaged city of Ishinomaki in fall 2012. Hisako-san is survived by her husband Kiyoshi-san, one elder brother, two daughters, Erika-san and Tazuko-san, and a son, Tetsuo-san, as well as five grandchildren. Her pastor, Katsunori Endo, conducted the funeral service at a funeral home in Oh’ike, Kobe, on July 17.   (Kita-Suzurandai [Kobe, Japan] RP Mission Church)       Ward, William Harold, age 96, June 19. Pastor Wade Mann officiated at the service held June 22 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial was in Olathe Memorial Cemetery.Harold was born May 28, 1917, in Glasco, Kan. He graduated magna cum laude from Sterling College. On Sept. 4, 1946, he married Elizabeth “Beth” McMillian. He was devoted to prayer and Bible study and active in the church. Beyond his career as an X-ray technologist, Harold was a lifelong mechanic with engineering skills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth; two sons, David Andrew and William Lewis; brother, Samuel; sister, Alice Shoop. Survivors include three sons, John (Sue); Harry (Mary Jane); both of Olathe, Kan.; Tom of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Martha Long (Brian), of Ellicott, Md.; two brothers, Robert and Paul; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Weimer, Donald G., age 92, July 10. Pastor Wade Mann officiated at the private burial service at Green Lawn Cemetery and the memorial service at the Shawnee, Kan., RPC July 13. Don graduated from Geneva College before joining the Army Air Corps during WWII. He served with the 475th Fighter Group where he flew P-38 fighters escorting bombers. Returning from service, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Coleman Kirchner on Aug. 15, 1947. Don earned a degree in electrical engineering from Kansas University and worked for the Marley Company in Kansas City. He was a member of the Shawnee RPC and served as a deacon and treasurer for many years. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of the Commemorative Air Force. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 59 years, and two brothers, William and Charles. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret “Marge” of Westwood; two sons, Paul (Mary Ann), of Topeka, Kan., and Laurence “Larry” of Kansas City; and two grandsons, Kevin (Heather), and Nathan, both of Atlanta, Ga. Wellman, Debra, age 59, July 11. Pastor Andrew Schep officiated the memorial service at Pompey Community Church. Debra is survived by her husband, Rick; sons Jared (Erin) and Ryan (Molly); daughers Lindsay, Alyssa (Caleb Thompson), and Sheralyn; and one grandson. (Syracuse, N.Y., RPC)

Wilson, John P., age 89, passed into glory July 31, at Jamison Hospital, New Castle, Pa. He was born Nov. 22, 1923, the son of the late Merle and Gertrude Wilson. He married Carolyn Wilson July 30, 1948. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and Penn State University and a member and retired elder of the Rose Point RPC. He is survived by two daughters, Carol (John) Fleeger,. Shawnee, Kan., and Judy (Philip) Pockras, Belle Center, Ohio; and four sons, John (Sandy), and Robert (Patricia), both of New Castle; James (Mary), Volant; and Thomas (Linda), New Castle; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, in 2007; a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Wilson, and a grandson, Caleb Wilson. The funeral was held Sat., Aug. 3, at the Rose Point Church with burial in the Rose Point Cemetery, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Charles Brown. (Rose Point [New Castle, Pa.] RPC)
