Our History

In 1869, eight families settled near Denison, Kan. They met for worship services with their leader, J. S. T. Milligan. Two years later, the congregation was organized as the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Denison. In 1874, a building was finished. In 1883, extensive repairs were done to the building, but shortly after it was finished, a windstorm completely destroyed the building. In 1884, a new building was completed and continues to be used to this day.

The 78 members represent about 25 households who meet regularly for worship. We have 5 ruling elders and 4 deacons serving the congregation. Several members are descendants (sixth generation) of charter members.

The congregation is challenged with meeting the needs of aging members and parents, attracting young families from the surrounding area, and needing spouses for single members.

Our Ministry

In addition to our Christian education classes for all ages, we work with a sister church in our community to sponsor vacation Bible school and AWANA. Several members volunteer with a local hospice organization. We also provide worship services at two nursing homes several times a year. Our ...
